The Beginning

Today as I was driving down the road, I decided to create a blog. I've thought about it for a while because I really enjoy reading blogs, but I've never really thought about having one myself. I called my husband and he thinks I'm crazy but I think it will be fun! Of course, I texted my BFF Maggie (A Weaving of Grace) to tell her about my plan and she was so excited!

A Little About Me

I grew up in Prattville, AL with my parents, sister Laura (25) and brother Josh (20). I began school at the University of Mobile in Fall of 2008 and I am FINALLY graduating May 11 with my undergraduate degree in Accounting and my Masters in Business Administration. This summer I will begin to study for the CPA exam. I currently live in Mobile, AL with my husband Peyton and my sweet puppy George. I am a staff accountant at Smith, Dukes & Buckalew, LLP (I just wrapped up my FIFTH tax season there ... whew!) and I love my job and the people I work for!

My Husband

Peyton and I started dating November 2010, were engaged February 11, 2012 and married July 7, 2012. These past two and a half years have been the best years of my life and I'm sure it will only get better!

Peyton graduated from Auburn University May 2011 with a degree in electrical engineering. He currently works for the US Army Corp of Engineers. We recently purchased our first home in West Mobile  and he has been working VERY hard on getting everything in good shape (more on that later). He is a great cook and spoils me constantly!

Our Child

Meet George Gunn, the sweetest, funniest, and laziest puppy on the planet.

George is a golden-doodle from Athens, GA. We have had him about a month and we are loving almost every minute with him! I have always wanted a goldendoodle but never really considered getting one for various reasons. About a month ago, my sister Laura called to let me know a guy she worked with had a friend who had two golden puppies and was trying to get rid of them. Apparently, at 12 weeks old, these puppies do not draw much interest. My sister called me immediately when she heard about them and of course I was interested! She handled all the details, my wonderful husband agreed and George became a a part of the family two days later! He spent a week with his cousin Sophie (mini schnauzer) and then we picked him up in Prattville and made our way back home.

As you can see, I am completely obsessed with this darling pup. Because we got him right in the middle of tax season, I have not had much time to really enjoy him so I have had a blast this week!

Easter 2013

I am currently in the process of unpacking, decorating and a few DIY projects for the house.  I am not creative at all so we'll see how those turn out :)

Good night & sweet dreams! xoxo....
